WELCOME TO BLACK TRUNK MIXED MARTIAL ARTS!

Black Trunk Martial Arts is led by BJJ black belt Sean Wilson, the only BJJ black belt in Southwest Florida. On June 14, 2004, Sean became the first black belt under Gustavo Machado in Gustavo's twelve years of teaching.

Sean remains active not only in teaching, but also in competition. He is a Grapplemania Superfight Champion, 2-time Virginia State Champion Absolute Division (All Weight Classes Combined), Yamasaki East Coast Championship winner, and a 2-time North American Grappling Association Champion.

Black Trunk Martial Arts opened its doors on Lafayette St in April 2006. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) black belt Sean Wilson is also the founder of the Gustavo Machado Team - Cape Coral/Fort Myers.

July 19, 2008 - Black Trunk MMA open house tournament was a great success with alot of the local schools participating. Avery Wilson dispayed some incredible skills winning the open kids division. Larry vickery won the advanced absolute men's division and "Reckless" Ryan Quartuccio Took home the gold in the beginner absolute men's division. Everyone who competed did an outstanding job and got some great tounament experience. Special thanks to John and Fletch (Naples BJJ) for a super performance reffing all the matches.

June 28, 2008 - Gustavo Machado Seminar coming to Black Trunk MMA. Cost is $40 for Black Trunk Members, $50 for non-members. All are welcome.

March 15, 2008 - 2008 NAGA West Palm Beach Grappling Championships - The Black Trunk Team made a very strong showing once again, getting an honorable mention in the no-gi category with 190 points and 5th place in the state for gi compeition with 350 points. Black Trunk sent 15 competitors to West Palm and brought home 7 gold medals (Samurai Swords), 5 silver medals, and 3 bronze medals.

Why did you start Muay Thai?

"I always liked the fact that in Muay Thai, you are allowed to attack any part of your opponent’s body (except groin), with what we call in Muay Thai, “The Art of the Eight Limbs,” (Hands, Elbows, Knees, Shin). Muay Thai for Life!!!
